Newsletter #11 – Road Rage
Good evening Folks. Hope all are doing well. Well, once again the streets have proven to be dangerous and deadly. This is the second fatal incident in the Tampa Bay area within the last three weeks. The first incident involved some subhuman scumbag felon that purchased a .357 illegally and then started chasing folks around until he could catch them and shoot them with the weapon as a "Test Firing" ! Of course the .357 worked - two dead and one seriously wounded!

Once again and for the 3rd time in the last few months, "Road Rage" racks up a body count. It was just a few months ago that Clearwater had two dead and one wounded in road rage shootings and now an incident for Tampa. The victim & the shooter engaged in a five mile chase at speeds reported to be about 100MPH. The victim, reported to be an accomplished martial artist, stopped and the other driver approached and shot him in the head. The scumbag then fled the scene. We have several things that we learn as Police officers in regards to possible reasons to die; tired, bored, lax, etc but one of the key errors is called "Tombstone Courage". Just a few reminders:
1. Remember that it takes two---leave your ego home!
2. Learn the signs-gestures, behavior, body language, driving
patterns and impairment!
3. Don't let it start - the other guy may not want to end it!
4. Leave the playing field-go to a police station, flag down a cop,
call *FHP or 911, go to a fire station, hospital, convenience
store, any place that there are people.
5. DO NOT GO HOME OR TO RELATIVES OR TO YOUR JOB OR ANY
PLACE YOU ROUTINELY GO! THESE MORONS HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO
STALK THEIR INTENDED VICTIMS AT THOSE PLACES!!!
6. Do not confront the scumbag-don't bring a black belt to a gun
fight!!!! Or a shovel fight if you are in Tarpon Springs!!!
7. Worst case scenario-you can flee or fight! You always have a
weapon-----not your car or gun---YOUR MIND! Outthink your
attacker. He or she is probably so angry they become dumber!!!
8. Know Florida Law! You have definitive requirements as a good
citizen. Know those requirements so that you stay a good
citizen! Scumbags belong in prison-not us good guys!!!
Please be careful. Keep in mind that the shooter in this case may be in custody but there are others out there just like him! Attend the all day course and become less vulnerable!
